Application and entrance exam The application period is March-April and the entrance exams are held in May-June. The exams are in several stages and candidates are eliminated at each stage. The entrance exam for almost all the programmes includes an advance assignment (specified in the Selection Guide) to be appended to the application. Candidates successful at stage I (the advance assignment) are invited to take stage II. The entrance exams are held in Helsinki, with the exception of the exam for the sound and lighting design programme, which is held in Tampere. Each of the entrance exams contains assignments specific to the relevant subject. Applications and advance assignments (depending on the programme) should be sent to the Theatre Academy Student Affairs Office, address Haapaniemenkatu 6, P.O.Box 163, FIN-00531 Helsinki, Finland to reach the office by 4.15 pm on the final date for applications. Late applications will not be considered. The advance assignments, information on selection and the Selection Guide are published in January. Be sure to complete all sections of the application form. The application form must be accompanied by a copy of your school or degree certificates and a CV of not more than one page stating your working experience. You should also append an informal statement of why you wish to take the degree programme. Please note that most of the tuition at the Theatre Academy is in Finnish or Swedish and the academic year begins in August. back
